Alex and Myriam: Part II

Museum of Civilization

After leaving Ottawa, Myriam and Alex headed over to the Museum of Civilization for some wedding pictures after the ceremony. Despite the strike, we finally got started. This is one of my favorite places for pictures because of the warmth of the stone, the windows of the Museum and Parliament Hill in the background.

The following shot happens to be one of my favorite moments from the day. I know a lot of bride’s like to work from a list of predetermined shots. However, this is a shot that more than likely isn’t on a list. It’s just one of those shots that some photographers can see. We went into the museum for 5 minutes to warm up and I looked up in the foyer and saw the ceiling and fell in love with it.

Ok I know Charlie’s Angels is over done and it is typically with the girls however….these guys were bound and determined to have a shot like it so here we go! No coaching was necessary…they knew exactly how to work it!
On a clear day, the window glass just reflects so nicely. It really is one of my favorite spots.
The Museum of Civilization has one of the best architectural features in the Ottawa area.
Working with natural light is always so much more pleasing to the eye. The sun was setting behind the museum and cast a warmth onto Myriam’s face. Really beautiful.
Stay tuned tomorrow for some final shots from this museum before we head off to the War Museum. Another building with some truly remarkable architecture.
