I had the pleasure of working with Katie and Andy on Saturday afternoon for their engagement session. It was so much fun and I am not just saying that…Andy had me in stitches and it was hard at times to take the picture because I was laughing so hard. I can’t wait for their wedding next fall! They were a blast to work with and here are some images that were my favorite from the day.

June 28, 2010Wedding Pictures can be anywhere
June 28, 2010I started last Saturday off photographing a beautiful and intimate wedding. This couple looked fantastic and I am so pleased with the results. It was raining and I did not have a lot of alone time with the couple. However, time and weather should never dictate whether or not you get stunning images. I love reflective surfaces and this piano was a beautiful example of what can be accomplished. With the help of a little ambient lighting and an adjustment of camera settings, any location can be transformed into an intimate setting.

June 19, 2010As promised, here are some of my favorite couple shots from the day. Luckily, the rain held off and the sun came out. It is always so much better to work with natural light and to get into the gardens at Strathmere. Becci looked absolutely stunning in her bridal gown and custom veil.

I have always been inspired by fashion magazines when I approach my wedding photography. This beautiful Bride is no exception. Becci and Jean-Francois were married at the picturesque Strathere Inn (which everyone knows by now, is my favourite venue to photograph a wedding). The window on the second floor of the Inn makes for a perfect backdrop for any bride, but especially a bride with a cage veil made with love by Madeleine. I always love an opportunity to photograph her veils and highly recommend her work to every bride.
Becci….what can I say….you looked radiant on your wedding day and were fantastic to photograph and just hang out with all day! Here is the first installment of photos from the day: BRIDALS

The wedding pictures will be completed this week and can be seen on my online galleries

Byward Market with Monique and Filippo Part 3

I just love the nooks and crannies in and around the market. It’s hard to believe that it was Race Weekend and we still had this whole place to ourselves. We sort of took over! They have the best stone walls in the Courtyard and I just loved it as a backdrop for Monique and Filippo’s pictures. The wedding pictures will be on my website in a few days under online galleries.

June 1, 2010Ottawa Wedding Photographers | Barb Cameron | St. Anthony’s Church
St. Anthony’s is a beautiful church located in Little Italy and was a stunning venue to become husband and wife. The colors were amazing but so were the couple. One of my favorite shots to get is the groom’s reaction just prior to his bride walking down the aisle. It is often filled with a good mix of nerves, excitement and anticipation.

We headed into the market for pictures afterward. We were a little afraid of the road closures and traffic because of the Race Weekend but it was surprisingly easy to navigate. I am still working on the pictures but here are some of my favorites so far. I love the one of the boys on the stairs; it reminds me of a street you would find in New York City. The car helps make an awesome picture as well. Finally, Monique had amazing eyes to photograph and such a fun personality that really came through in all of her pictures.
Stay tuned for more shots later in the week! Visit my website for the full wedding in a few days under my online galleries!
