Katie and Andy got married in the perfect time of fall. I love fall and all of its colors. I think it is my favourite time of year and judging by the amount of Sept weddings there was, it the fav choice among brides as well. Andy had a great start to the day with his boys and they got a traditional shave. Loved watching this! Andy surprised Katie with a small calf to get pictures with. She is a vet and used to be a large animal Vet so trust me. it meant something to her. I have to say I have photographed many things, but a calf at a wedding was a first. But I must say it was great to witness and document! The flowers are by the talented Michelle VandenBosch….enjoy!

Some people think 22 is too young to get married. Normally I would agree. However, not in the case of Natalie and Mathieu. I witnessed and captured such great love and emotion from this couple it brought myself and the officiant, Alan Viau, to tears. There are so many amazing moments with this family and couple, I just couldn’t blog them all. Oh and did I mention that Natalie has AMAZING bone structure (I sound like Tyra Banks) I look forward to photographing their babies for The Wee Bairn when they come
Strathmere Inn
a gorgeous wedding venue located south of the city with amazing cuisine, staff and grounds. One of my favorite places to photograph weddings. A must see if you are looking for a wedding venue.
Photography Tip: Pictures sometimes will be more interesting if the point of interest is not in the center of the picture. Consider some negative space when say, taking pictures of a flower. Place the flower to the right or left of the frame. It makes your photos somehow different and more appealing to the eye. Normally I will take something dead centre when symmetry is involved such as buildings/roads or repeating patterns.
Wedding Tip: The bridesmaid dress. Yes the dreaded bridesmaid dress. There, I said it. Take it from me, no one wants to be wearing a dress that is horribly out of style or is a disgusting color AND the dress does not have to be long. Some of the best dresses I have photographed were short and very modern. One of my fav dresses was black, short and had a chic ruffled neckline. At least then, the girls have a chance of wearing it again after spending all of that money. If you are shopping for bridesmaid dress and you like things “puffy” please read this tip numerous times…your gals will thank you for it

Shooting in the dark of winter is tough. Really tough. But Melissa and Brad made it so easy! They were so amazing to work with and such troopers with the cold weather. Melissa spent at least 30 minutes in the snow with little white open toed shoes on! Hats off to her! It was easy to capture the love between this couple as well as their personalities. Melissa got ready at the Holiday Inn Select Kanata and their reception was at Loch March Golf and Country Club where the staff were wonderful and went above and beyond. Flora and Mike got married on a beautiful, crisp, fall Saturday. They said their enthusiastic “I Dos” at Blessed Sacramentin the Glebe – and how I love Father Joe!
We then headed over the the Museum of Civilization for some pictures. This has to be one of my favorite spots to photograph because of the warmth of the stone, the reflection in the glass and the cool lines ofthe buildings. After we struck a pose, we landed at the Crowne Plaza for the night to celebrate in style. I have to give a big shout out to some peeps

I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Ashleigh and Dave last weekend. I have to say, this couple is beautiful – both outside and inside AND their family and friends were such a blast to be around. We started off at the parents of Ashleigh (thanks Karen and Vic!)…after the ceremony (which was FULL of laughs and a few tears) we headed to The Manotick Mill. Our final destination brought us to the exclusive Ottawa Hunt Club Golf Course. WOW! What a venue…the grounds of the golf course certainly did not disappoint and the service was impeccable. Anne and Jason…what an amazing couple! They are so cute together is made working with them a breeze. Like most couples,really great wedding pictures were very important to them. I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Monique and Filippo this past weekend. Monique looked absolutely stunning in her gown and Filippo looked equally handsome in his tux. Special thanks to Chandra who photographed the boys while I was downtown at the Westin with the girls. The car has to get some attention too….it was downright gorgeous. The last photo is the reaction of Monique’s mom when she saw her daughter in her wedding gown for the first time. Love those moments!
